The restaurant "La Table L'esSENSiel".
Olivier Boizet has a passion for flavour and respects his ingredients; his cuisine is modelled on what he himself likes to eat: gourmet food, an author’s cuisine, created in harmony with the seasons.

A cuisine which is up-to-date but not based on passing fads, contemporary but with no fashionable flourishes. Creativity at its essence, and a sense of flavour.

He is in a region where the soil is rich and he has special relationships with all his suppliers who are often small producers.

He is inspired by seasonal change and reinvents French-inspired dishes, allowing the ingredients to express every one of their subtle nuances….

The Essence of sharing - La Table de Véro et Olivier for Table d'Hôte dining

The Table d’Hôte, a convivial and authentic occasion, symbolises the very essence of sharing in a restaurant.
Each week, the Chef offers a traditional family dish called his 'plat canaille' served in a casserole dish in the centre of a fine wooden table.

Blanquette de Veau à L’Ancienne, Tripes à la Mode de Caen, Saucisson Vigneron… a whole range of oft-neglected dishes that have been brought back into the spotlight followed by a cheese board and a dessert of similar ilk.

Our Table d’Hôte dining room is open for lunch from Wednesday to Friday, and in the evening by reservation. Single set lunch at € 23 including coffee and excluding drinks.

And because you won't always have the time to remain for hours at the dining table in a restaurant, we offer a rapid 60 minute service, only 10 minutes from Roanne.

An interpretation of up-to-the-minute cuisine in three movements: starter, main course, cheese or dessert, for € 26.
Weekdays only, lunch and dinner.

Our RUBIS lounge, the latest in modern design, a boudoir with a modern twist, is just the place to savour an aperitif or after-dinner drink.

And comfortably ensconced in a cosy atmosphere, you can sample the fine wines of the Château's cellars.

Service is available from 11am until the restaurant closes.

Cookery classes

The kitchen at Château de Champlong welcome guests for gourmet cookery classes.

The basic idea: you concoct three dishes (starter, main course, dessert) from raw materials alongside the Chef who shares with you the tricks of the trade. You invite the person of your choice to spend a pleasant and companionable moment with you around the table. And you leave with an apron stamped with 'Château de Champlong' along with the recipes that you have learnt to impress your nearest and dearest when you return home!

You don't need to know a great deal about cooking, beginners are always welcome!

The programme for the classes (Wednesdays, Friday evenings) is settled six months in advance.
For a cookery class for 8 guests, we can arrange times to suit.
